On the other hand, large volume paracentesis is used for draining larger amount of fluid from the patient’s body. Short duration of hospital stay is required for such treatments. Louanne  - Question re: diet recommendations 2010-07-10 18:07:54
Thank you for this information. I have hypoglycemia and would not be able to have a few foods listed (ie. excess melon, onion and carrot juice). I'm sure it's necessary to have as many as possible to have an affect but would it suffice to have whatever I'm able. My diet consists of yogurt, buttermilk, sardines (occasionally), and okra so I'm not eating enough to balance out my blood sugar.... this is why I'm asking.
Also, I've had diarrhea recently so salads are out right now (taking goldenseal and oregano to ward of possible infection).
Any info would be helpful.
Thankyou
Louanne

maggy heaney  - my mom has ascities 2008-09-18 13:34:18
hi, i'm glad to see some natural remedies for ascities. my mom has breast cancer and has been using traditional and holistic treatments for years. recently she has had ascities four times within a couple of months. the fluid accumulation is happening more frequently. she has had the fluid drained each time. she has "cancer activity" in that area but not cancer according to her oncologist at sloan kettering in nyc. no one seems to know why its happening or how to stop it from occuring. any suggestions? the oncologist wants to put my mom back on chemo which didn't seem to help before.

thank you,
maggy heaney
