Put the hardened sugar block in a microwave-safe bowl.
Cover it with a damp paper towel.
Warm it for 30 seconds to 1 minute, and keep checking to make sure it does not melt.
Your soft brown sugar is ready to use!
Use this softened brown sugar immediately since it will tend to harden again.
