I'd like to add to V's comment. Because of PBs mold and all, almond butter is a great alternative. If you do
eat peanut butter all natural is definitely the way to go - no Peter Pan peanut butter, just the real stuff
like Smucker's or an organic all natural (some organics are like Peter Pan with all the sugar just organic
sugar - don't be fooled these are not good for you!)

Krema Nut Company and Krema Products both make all-natural peanut butter. The only ingredient is nuts. They
are both based in central Ohio, so I'm not sure where all you can get them outside Columbus. Also, if eat just
a serving at a time, peanut butter really is an excellent source of nutrition and it fills you up. I lost 67
pounds in college, and another 40 after I had my son, and I eat peanut butter all the time while maintaining
my weight. It's great in smoothies or before/after a workout.

Looked on Google for food. values of peanuts.
Even an ounce of dry roasted have too many calories and too much
fat for most Americans. They are so good it is hard to eat only one oz as we all know. Maybe almonds and
walnuts are better, as my nutricionist told me. Also, almond butter.
Kara  - Diet Peanut Butter   |2009-05-19 20:31:02
Hi Everyone, I have tried a couple times to diet and have failed all times. My body produces too much
insolin, so everytime I try diet foods, my sugar gets waaaay too low and I pass out.
I have been on a
successful diet for a month using peanut butter for morning snack, about 1/8 cup of peanut butter and celery,
a turkey sandwich on wheat with only mustard, and a sensible dinner meat and vegies. I have lost 26 pounds in
one month, it is great. I am now 148 pounds. yay! Peanut butter has made my morning bearable and kept me
healthy! Love it! I buy only organic peanut butter from local organic stores, not a big organic person, but
the safest way I know right now. :) I am huge meat, potatoes, bread, anything fatty, and this diet has been
really easy, I continue to lose each day, only have 10-15 lbs to my ideal weight, go figure!

While I don't doubt the nutritional content found in peanuts or the butter they make, the side effects of the
processing is what should cause peanut butter eaters to pay closer attention.

There is a very toxic mold
that is acknowledged by the FDA, which sets limits & restrictions on prepackaged peanut butter. BUT the
question is HOW long has that approved mold in PB been growing during shipment, sitting stocked on a shelf,
then sitting on your shelf?

The PB with the highest contamination is the PB they grind up for you at the
health food stores. Nobody's there to regulate the levels of the mold at that point.

Here is some general
intro to information regarding the mold:

Y ou'll have to do your
own digging to see whatelse is there as this article offers the most benign beginning to the truth re: health,
wellness, & nutrients.

My hope is that you'll realize being mindful of nutritional content isn't enough.
You MUST deepen your awareness regarding HOW your food is processed. There you'll find the untold truth
between healthy eating and a healthful lifestyle.

I didn't know peanut butter was that good for you...The calories are kind of high, but if you eat it before a
football game or something, it would be really helpful
hash50  - Peanuts and migraine   |2008-12-05 14:26:08
I have loved peanuts from my childhood, but it used to trigger migraine in me. Now I am in my fifties, and
peanuts no longer bring on a migraine. So, finally after decades,I am enjoying peanuts without fear (well,
almost).

If there's one thing that's good for you, it's peanuts.
Stocker  - PB in aspect to energy...   |2008-11-14 06:17:23
So, I stumbled across this in my search of snack foods I can use at work for an energy boost/muscle gain. I
know it's foolish. I work overnight stock at a retailer, it's a very weight intensive job. I haven't done it
long so everyday is painful. I'm looking for nutritional ways to help speed up the muscle gain, so I'm not
lacking like current. I know protein helps in muscle growth. I'm just looking to kill 2 birds with one stone,
on a cheap level.

Any information would be great.

Unshelled peanuts are a great snack food because they are so labor-intensive you can't gobble them up.mgzfi
