Home remedies for duodenitis can include usage of banana, honey, carrot juice, raw cabbage, food containing high fibre such as oat, barley, lentils, and fruits rich in Vitamin A such as tomatoes, peaches and watermelon. In medical terms, duodenitis is an indication of inflammation of duodenum. Duodenum is a part of the small intestine and is connected to stomach. Some of the medications can also lead to duodenitis. Aspirin and anti-inflammatory drugs should be discontinued or rather completely avoided. It is also possible that if the inflammation is severe, it can cause intestinal obstruction.
These home remedies for duodenitis can be effective on people at different pace depending on the intensity of the cause. Precautions need to be taken at all the time until it is completely cured. If immediate attention is not given, it can further lead to duodenal ulcers too.
- High Fiber: Food containing high fiber such as oat, barley, lentils, carrots, beans, soya products is very good and effective in reducing the cause of the duodenitis.
- Chamomile/Dandelion Tea: Either a cold chamomile tea or the lukewarm dandelion tea can also heal any kind of infection. The intake can be twice a day at proper intervals.
- Vitamin A: Any fruit which is rich in vitamin A should be taken at regular intervals throughout the day. Some of the examples are watermelon, peaches, carrot juice, raw cabbage, oranges, and blackberries as they all reduce the risk of duodenitis.
- Yoghurt: A daily consumption of one bowl of yoghurt can help reduce the pain and calm down the intestinal system. It will also mild away the stomach pain.
- Butter Milk: Consumption of butter milk is the best and the simplest remedy for duodenitis. For better results, one can add black pepper powder or cumin seeds powder to a glass of buttermilk and have at regular intervals; 2-3 times a day is recommended.
- Lemon: Lemon juice helps to clear the bacteria thus improving the digestive system. It also removes harmful substances from the stomach, thus curing duodenitis.
- Pomegranate Juice: Half glass of pomegranate juice with a table spoon of honey twice a day can also help cure duodenitis.
- Honey: In case of honey, make sure to use raw honey. One can make immense intake of honey just during the normal meals as well. It helps to reduce the inflammation in the stomach. You can spread the honey on the bread solely made of wheat or mixed-grain’s bread and one should have it at regular intervals. One should have a habit to include honey in regular meals. It is good for health and helps in keeping a lot of diseases and allergies away.
There are few things which should be completely avoided:
- Avoid smoking and intake of alcohol as it aggravates the chances to develop ulcers.
- Avoid extreme stress levels
- Avoid consumption of anti-inflammatory drugs like aspirin and ibuprofen
- Avoid excessive spicy food
