I've enjoyed many herbal ciggerates, of course there's good and bad things to be taken with this. It is said natives smoked lobelia and other herbs for health benefits and yes i'm sure there was the negative effects from the tar or what have you, however, taking it then would be dependent of the individual's circumstances and needs.

Breathing in polluted air is bad! For many centuries, indians used herds to smoke. Eating food that your body rejects is dangerous to your health, but I bet the majority of people who made comments on this post do not pay attention to the warning signs that the body gives after consuming food that your body rejects...

This article is so insane and really ironic considering this is called organic "facts." In fact, smoking some herbs, such as clove, is even MORE harmful than smoking tobacco!! We are meant to breath in oxygen, not smoke. If you're flooding your lungs with smoke instead of air, you're damaging your lungs, to say the least. Just... wow. I will not be visiting this website again. You people should be ashamed of yourselves for blatantly misleading people possibly toward their own demise or ill health.

I like the article as it can perhaps wake some people up! Some people including so called experts think they know everything ... what about the north americna indians and actually most indiginous peoples all throughout Mexico, central and south America. Did these people know a thing or two about health ... they were extemely healthy and knew so much more about nature ... many of these indiginous people still do ...

How could this wake anyone up? This is complete idiocy and it discredits their entire website as far as I'm concerned. All they did was spew out "the health benefits of smoking" then listed a few herbs and talked about the health benefits of herbs, not smoking them. Smoke inhalation is extremely harmful and smoking clove, for example, has ACTUALLY been studied and shown to be even more dangerous than smoking tobacco!
I'm all about trusting in nature, but it's not natural for us to breath in smoke instead of air anymore than to breath in water instead of air. Breathing in water may kill us quicker whereas the damage of smoke takes a while and builds up. But slow deaths aren't always better ones.
Also passing around a peace pice ceremonially is a lot different than going through a pack a day.

This article is appalling. All the herbs you mentioned can more easily be taken as a tea or a tincture without the gross discomfort of smoke in the respiratory system and other systems as well.
