Home remedies for abdomen pain have become popular with passage of time. Abdomen pain refers to the pain felt in the region between chest and groin. It affects a number of organs starting from stomach, liver, kidneys, and gallbladders to liver, pancreas and intestines. It could be treated with home remedies like ginger juice, celery seeds, honey and a variety of oils. 

Home remedies for abdomen pain are useful in getting rid of this uncomfortable situation. Abdomen pain is the situation of acute pain in the area around stomach and may be caused due to digestive, metabolic disorders or other complicated reasons. It is known by various names like stomach pain, belly ache or abdominal cramps. It may last for short duration or for long hours of the day. It may be followed by other problems like vomiting. In mild pain condition, it may be treated with basic home remedies. In case of severe pain, you might need to consult a doctor for diagnosis of a serious problem.
 
Causes:
Abdomen pain is caused due to a number of reasons. Here is the summary of most common reason that leads to this situation:

  • It may be the result of overeating, digestion malfunctioning, formation of gas or constipation.
  • Other causes are inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
  • It may also be caused due to infections in urinary tracts.
  • It may also be caused due to inflammation in gallbladders, appendix or other sensitive body parts.
  • It may also be caused due to presence of stones in kidneys and uterus.
  • In women, it might be caused by pre-menstruation disorders.
  • Imbalance in different types of body acids may also lead to pain in abdomen.
  • Milk intolerance, stomach flu, ulcers, allergy due to different food products are some other causes of abdomen pain.
  • Also, it may be caused due to food poisoning and parasite infections.

Symptoms:
The pain in region around stomach, which covers area from chest to groin, is the symptom for abdomen pain.

Effects:
The abdomen pain may lead to discomfort in areas like chest, neck and shoulder, apart from stomach itself. It may also cause vomiting and inefficient muscle moment. The person suffering from this problem becomes incapable of performing any type of activity.

Home Remedies:
The good news is that abdomen pain may be cured by following some popular home based remedies for abdomen pain:

  • Asafetida: Make a paste with the help of hing powder (Asafetida) and water. Then, apply it to your belly button and take a rest for few minutes. This will allow the release of gas from body and relieve you to shed away abdomen pain.
  • Celery Seeds: Another home remedy for abdomen pain is to chew half teaspoon of celery seeds, along with salt. After that you must drink a glass of warm water.
  • Mixture of Honey and Bay Leaf: A mixture of honey, bay leaf powder and long piper may also be consumed to get relieved from abdomen pain.
  • Ginger Juice: Another great home remedy for abdomen pain is to apply ginger juice around belly button. As per American Chronicle, ginger helps in relief from stomach pain which results from dyspepsia, colic, spasm, flarulence and other painful infections in the stomach caused.
  • Mixture of Different Oils: Applying a mixture of clove oil (2 drops), peppermint oil (3 drops), and vegetable oil (1 teaspoon) around affected area is also beneficial in case of abdomen pain. Another home based treatment is application of angelica oil (2 drops), almond oil (1 teaspoon) and peppermint oil (3 drops) in the form of a mixture around affected area.  Another option is to prepare a mixture of 2 drops coriander oil, 3 drops eucalyptus oil, 1 drop fennel oil and1 teaspoon almond oil and apply it at regular intervals over belly button. Also, you may use the mixture of 3 drops coriander oil, 2 drops marjoram and 1 teaspoon vegetable oil to get rid of abdomen pain. You have to apply this mixture around the affected area.
  • Heating Tab: It is also a good idea to apply heating tab over the affected area to reduce the abdomen pain. Also, you may use a clean cloth dipped in warm water for the same purpose.
  • Avocado Leaves and Seeds: Avocado leaves and seeds are also great parts of home remedies for abdominal pain and other related problems.
  • Fresh Orange Juice: Fresh orange juice, followed by liquid diet, is also helpful in getting rid of abdomen pain.
  • Bishop’s Weed: Bishop’s weed in the quantity of half teaspoon, along with rock salt is also a recommended home remedy for abdomen pain.
