Barley

by Meenakshi Nagdeve last updated -

The effect that barley has on diarrhea is rather impressive for two reasons. Firstly, barley is a solid grain, which has a significant amount of dietary fiber and can solidify your stool to prevent diarrhea, just like many other sources of dietary fiber. However, when you soak barley in water overnight, the water becomes thick and starchy. By drinking this water infused by barley, you can cut down the thin water in your stool, which is what leads to diarrhea. Thickening your stool with barley or barley water is very effective in diarrhea relief and prevention.
