Camphor oil has had many uses over the years, but its function as a pain reliever is well known, which makes it important for fibromyalgia treatment. Furthermore, camphor oil is known to reduce spasms, which can keep muscles relaxed, rather than tense and aching. Camphor oil also has stimulating properties that promotes blood flow and improves the circulatory system, thus speeding up the healing process of cells and tissues. Camphor blocks the release of particular neurotransmitters, catecholamines, which are stress hormones typically involved in the fight-or-flight response of the body.
