Hot Toddy

by prathamesh gharat last updated -

Following a hangover, many people recommend drinking a hot toddy (non-alcoholic), due to the simple constituents – water, honey and lemon. While adding the whiskey makes it a “cocktail”, when you’re trying to fix a hangover, more alcohol is never the answer. The water helps to rehydrate you and the lemon acts as an antioxidant within the body, which reduces toxicity. Finally, the fructose found in honey (rather than the simpler form of sugar, sucrose, which is in white sugar) speeds up the breakdown of alcohol in the body, relieving stress on the liver and helping the hangover pass more quickly.
