Licorice

One of the most all-around effective remedies for asthma is licorice, and while many people associate it as a type of candy, it is also a very powerful natural treatment. Licorice is antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory by nature, along with its ability to stimulate the immune system and cause expectoration. For those suffering from asthma, when excess mucus builds up on the lining of the airways, it becomes difficult to breath. Licorice can stimulate the body to expel much of that mucus, keeping the airways clear for life-giving oxygen.
