Diabetes requires you to avoid carbohydrates in the meal, and brown rice is a good alternative for the carbohydrate-rich white rice. Brown rice is cholesterol-free and has no trans fats. Although it is advisable to reduce the intake of rice altogether for better blood sugar control level, however, replacing white rice with brown rice decreases the risk of diabetes by 16%.
