Fir oil has a fresh, woody smell, and it should not be used undiluted. If done so, it may cause skin irritations, and it should be mixed with a carrier oil in equal proportions before applying on skin. It may cause more problems if the person is suffering from asthma, and one should always avoid direct contact with eyes and other mucous membranes.
