Ascending colon is part of the large intestine from where the feces pass. A burning sensation and pain may result due to an injury or bruise in that area. It is typically experienced in the course of constipation or diarrhea especially during or after bowel movements. In rare cases, it could also be due to cancer or a tumor developing in this area.
