Blood donation doesn’t require a particular reason. You donate because you want to if you are deemed healthy for the same. It is, in fact, a meaningful contribution to a society’s well-being. Since blood can be stored for a limited period, it is necessary to ensure there is an availability of sufficient healthy individuals in case of emergencies. Donating blood has various health benefits for the donor as well.
