This may be due to a problem with the sciatic nerve. While sitting or driving, the sciatic nerve may get compressed resulting in severe pain which migrates to the legs. One may also experience numbness in the buttocks. Avoid sitting for continuous hours and indulge in therapy or exercises to help ease the pain and the burning sensation.

Ideally, this is a symptom of some allergy or some physical activity that has taken a toll on your nerve. I guess you shouldn’t wait any longer if it is very severe. Go for an MRI.
